MORE: via a recording provided to morning take of Sen Majority Mark Johnson, "We have a special election in Senate District 6, which is up in the Brainerd, the Grand Rapids area. And we're looking to win that one. That was a Trump +27 district, but we can't take that for granted these days. If you see that the political atmosphere that's around us, that's at the federal level, especially now with the tariff issues that are going on. And what Democrats are pumping out of their organization and how they're denigrating Republicans on that. We have a lot of work. We're not taking that for granted. We're setting up a team. We've got a number of members that are going up there to door knock. We have a lot of dollars that are going up there. We're going to be spending over $120,000 from our organization on that one as well, too. So, support in that area is needed. We're not going to take that for granted."

ELLISON: via Star Tribune, VERBATIM: “The group, which included several local East African business leaders, told Ellison they were being targeted by state agencies they accused of being racist and discriminatory, according to a nearly hour-long audio recording of the meeting provided to the Minnesota Star Tribune by the attorney of the alleged mastermind of the $250 million fraud. It’s unclear who recorded the meeting… In the meeting, the group promised political and financial support for Ellison, and he expressed sympathy over their allegations of discrimination and told them he would look into it. But, he dismissed their entreaties to help him politically…Rep. Kristin Robbins, R-Maple Grove, chair of the House Fraud Prevention and State Agency Oversight Committee, last week called the recording “extremely disturbing.” ROBBINS: “Minnesotans just heard their attorney general offering support to individuals who were orchestrating the largest pandemic-related fraud scheme in the nation. This demands additional scrutiny, as [the] attorney general’s duty is to defend state agencies and provide rigorous oversight of Minnesota businesses and charities.”
Ellison says he did nothing wrong…A spokesperson for the attorney general, Brian Evans, said Ellison vaguely recalls the meeting and didn’t know other people would be there. Evans said he was just listening to constituents’ concerns and “Nothing improper happened whatsoever,” Evans said.” READ: https://fluence-media.co/42LIMgj

Angie Craig and six DFL state lawmakers: ‘What are some of the most exciting projects that are on the horizon for us right now in Minnesota?’ … For the only time in the hour-long session, [Craig] took a pass on a constituent’s question. Eventually, Jamie Long, the state House’s DFL floor leader, [said] ‘We are trying really hard to protect the wins we’ve had the last two years.’ … Long’s answer distilled DFLers’ theme of the night: This is the time to hold on to past legislative wins. … Attendees seemed to agree, asking mostly about how to push back against federal cuts. … What started out as remarks that were firing up the crowd ended with [Rep. Robert Bierman] acknowledging that DFLers are unsure how to complete a state budget by June.” READ: https://fluence-media.co/3Ep1voD
